Grow Alabama is a multi-farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that provides fresh, local food from family farms in Alabama. Working through their website, Grow Alabama delivers ‘boxes’ of locally grown foods to customer’s homes, businesses, and drop-off points throughout the state.
Grow Alabama Founder Jerry Spencer is working to put Alabama food on Alabama tables. According to growalabama.com more than 90% of all foods consumed in Alabama come from other states or countries. Spencer believes reversing that ratio will revitalize the state’s farmers and rural regions while providing healthy, naturally-grown food for the people of Alabama. The Grow Alabama Foundation assists farmers with crop planning, technical and labor support, and management of pests and disease.
